Day 1: Arrival in Amritsar – Local Sightseeing
Upon arrival at Amritsar Railway Station or Airport, you will be welcomed by our driver. Check into your hotel and freshen up. Begin your sightseeing tour with a visit to the sacred Golden Temple, also known as Sri Harmandir Sahib, the most important pilgrimage site for Sikhs. Later, explore Jallianwala Bagh, a historic memorial that marks one of the darkest chapters in Indian history. In the evening, proceed to the Wagah Border to witness the electrifying Beating Retreat Ceremony, a daily military ritual between India and Pakistan. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Amritsar.
Day 2: Amritsar to Srinagar (By Flight or Road)
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to the airport for your flight to Srinagar (or start the scenic road journey if traveling by car). Upon arrival in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, check into your hotel or houseboat. In the evening, enjoy a peaceful Shikara ride on the Dal Lake, soaking in the beauty of the Zabarwan mountain range and floating gardens. Overnight stay in Srinagar.
Day 3: Srinagar – Local Sightseeing
After breakfast, embark on a local sightseeing tour of Srinagar. Visit the enchanting Mughal Gardens – Shalimar Bagh, Nishat Bagh, and Chashme Shahi – all built on the banks of Dal Lake. Also visit Shankaracharya Temple, perched on a hilltop, offering panoramic views of the valley. Spend your evening exploring the local markets for Kashmiri handicrafts and dry fruits. Return to your hotel or houseboat for an overnight stay.
Day 4: Srinagar – Sonmarg Excursion (Day Trip)
Today, after breakfast, go for a full-day excursion to Sonmarg, known as the "Meadow of Gold". Enjoy the breathtaking views of snow-covered peaks and lush meadows. You can opt for a pony ride to Thajiwas Glacier (at your own expense) or simply relax by the riverside. Return to Srinagar by evening and stay overnight.
Day 5: Srinagar – Gulmarg Excursion (Day Trip)
Post breakfast, leave for a day trip to Gulmarg, one of the most picturesque hill stations in India. Famous for its lush green meadows and ski slopes, Gulmarg also offers Asia’s highest cable car ride – the Gulmarg Gondola (ticket not included). Enjoy snow activities (seasonal), photography, and stunning views of Mount Apharwat. Return to Srinagar for an overnight stay.
Day 6: Departure from Srinagar
After breakfast, check out from the hotel or houseboat. Depending on your departure time, you may visit any last-minute local spots or enjoy a bit of shopping. You’ll then be dropped at Srinagar Airport for your onward journey with beautiful memories of your Amritsar and Kashmir Tour.
